The Grange
The Grange is an exceptional performing arts venue nestled in Hampshire's rolling countryside, housed within one of Britain's most celebrated neo-classical mansions. Located in Northington near Alresford, the venue has been transformed into a summer opera, dance, and concert destination since 2017. The mansion itself is a striking example of Greek Revival architecture, designed by William Wilkins between 1809 and 1816, and famously described by The Telegraph as offering "a more serenely beautiful setting than any opera house can boast."
The RIBA Award-winning theatre within the mansion is renowned for its intimate yet flexible design and exceptional acoustics. The venue presents an exceptionally dynamic programme of world-class opera, contemporary dance, classical concerts, and genre-blending performances throughout the summer season. Audiences are encouraged to immerse themselves in the full experience—arriving early to explore the grounds, dining in the on-site restaurants or outdoor pavilions, and remaining for the full evening event. The Grange Festival, operating as an arts charity, combines artistic excellence with community engagement, running educational programmes, school outreach, and talent development initiatives across Hampshire.
