Common questions.
- Can I switch plans at any time?+Yes. You can upgrade from Free to Premium at any point, and your billing starts from the day you upgrade. You can also cancel or downgrade your Premium subscription at any time — no questions asked.
- What counts as a "follow"?+A follow is any profile you track from our database: a dancer, choreographer, work (ballet or piece), company, or venue. Free subscribers can follow up to 5 in total across all categories. Premium subscribers have no limit.
- What are premium-only articles?+A selection of our longer investigations, critic dispatches, and in-depth profiles are marked as premium. They're produced with extra editorial resource and are only accessible to paying subscribers.
- How do ticket giveaways work?+We partner with major companies and venues to offer complimentary tickets exclusively to Premium subscribers. We hold a ballot for each giveaway — Premium subscribers are automatically entered when they opt in.
- How does my subscription support journalism?+Subscriber revenue directly funds our editorial team — including a programme that pays emerging critics a proper rate for their work. Every Premium subscription contributes to a fund that commissions new voices in dance writing.
- Is there a student or industry discount?+Yes. Students with a valid .ac.uk email address can access Premium for £1.49/month. Industry professionals (dancers, choreographers, company staff) can apply for a complimentary account — email us at editors@plie.uk.
