A Christmas Carol
About This Production
A Christmas Carol is Ballet Theatre UK's beloved seasonal production, bringing Charles Dickens' timeless ghost story to life through classical ballet. Choreographed by Artistic Director Christopher Moore, the work transports audiences to a traditional Victorian Christmas where Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three enchanting spirits who reveal the true meaning of the season.
The production is set to a rich tapestry of festive music including Carol of the Bells, Victor Hely-Hutchinson's Carol Symphony, and Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre, woven together to support the narrative arc from Scrooge's miserly isolation to his heartfelt transformation. All sets and costumes are designed and built in-house by the company, giving the production a warmly handcrafted visual quality.
A Christmas Carol has been a cornerstone of the company's touring programme since 2012, bringing ballet to regional and family audiences across the UK. It is designed to be an ideal first ballet for children and younger audiences, with storytelling clarity at its centre and spectacle that rewards all ages.
